Hand-forged functional iron work for your home and cottage.
Jim Carter Blacksmith
All my work is hand forged functional iron work for the home and cottage. Nature has always been a leading force in all of my creations. My first shop was built in 1978 in Port Carling, Ontario. I had a chance meeting with a Blacksmith David Norrie and he got me to switch to Blacksmithing from welding. I built railings, gates and chandeliers, iron work for people all over Ontario. In 2000 I moved my studio to 90 acres in Bracebridge, Ontario. For 22 years I created and turned out functional iron work from this studio. We had the privilege to do work for many cottages on Muskoka Lakes. I have had the help of my wife with painting finished product for 33 years. We had a chance to relocate to the Alberta and to experience building a new studio. My work reflects these changes and I am excited to show case them. I feel blessed that after 45 years I still can do what I love and that’s blacksmithing.
