AndreaSimpson – Glasswork
Currently based in Red Deer, Alberta, Andrea began glasswork in 1980. Andrea found inspiration in the artistry of modern and centuries-old glasswork in Europe. Hard work and long hours rewarded Andrea Simpson with military, federal and provincial commissions. Andrea’s glasswork is often requested for presentation awards (Stock Growers Assoc., Hereford Assoc., PFRA. Her glasswork can be found in private homes and public institutions (hospitals, churches). Andrea’s glass sculptural works have received award recognition and can be found internationally in private collections. Currently, Andrea teaches glass art to enthusiasts of all ages – Red Deer College Summer Series is a highlight. Hours are spent designing new projects and working on commissions. Each custom project is a labor of love – combined with artistry, long hours and precision. Andrea works in stained glass, restoration & repair, fused glass, mosaics and micro-mosaics.
